Tour The Course
Hole 14Par: 4, Handicap: 12
With a small brook wandering through the fairway this Par 4 is the truest risk/reward hole on the course. The player must decide whether to lay up short of the brook or try to carry it. To fly the brook is an imposing challenge particularly from the rear tee boxes as the landing area is quite tight. On the other hand the farther out the ball lands on the lay up side of the brook, the more obstacles are faced on the second shot to the green. A perfect play has to navigate the brook, clear a fairway bunker and fly a greenside trap to land on an elevated green. The other option is to lay up before the brook leaving a long iron, hybrid or fairway wood into this narrow, well bunkered, undulating green. This hole is a mental challenge and tough test of execution.
